Who is Surrogate Interactive?
Surrogate Interactive was founded in 2001 as an independent PC game developer specializing in making innovative and enjoyable titles that only a completely independent developer could produce.
Where are you located?
Surrogate Interactive has team members spread all over the globe, but the main company location is in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
Why Surrogate Interactive? What does it mean?
Surrogate Interactive refers to the company's goal to immerse players in our games so intensely that the gaming world becomes a more preferred replacement for the real world, or your "Surrogate" world.
What have you made?
Morbid Inclination was the first Half-Life modification to pit four teams (Humans, Monsters, Aliens and Robots) each with their own special abilities, against each other in a fast paced and intense game mode (similar to Capture the Flag) called Scavenger. Morbid's first beta release was downloaded over 10,000 times.
What are you working on?
Brutal is a truly three-dimensional, multiplayer fighting game with battlegrounds that allow players to roam virtually anywhere they want. With destructible scenery, original fighters, multiple games modes (including team play and free-for-all death match) and the ability to fight with up to 16 players at once (via LAN or Internet), Brutal is unlike any other fighting game being developed for the PC.
We are currently working on the playable alpha of Brutal and our plan is to develop the game into a stand alone retail title for the PC using Valve Software's Source engine.
